Production Manager Job Opening in Knapp, Wisconsin - Job Description
Job Purpose: Experienced in manufacturing of nutraceutical products for animals by supervising staff, organizing, and monitoring work flow. Works as part of a team with two other managers.
Reports to: President of Vet's Plus
This position is based in Knapp, WI. Candidate must be willing to travel between three facilities within a 10 mile radius.
Production Manager Job Duties:
Leads manufacturing staff by communicating job expectations; training, coaching and disciplining employees.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to multiple lines and multiple shifts in three facilities.
Maintains work flow by monitoring process and implementing cost reductions.
Develops reports to analyze production performance records and data for management.
Creates and revises procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
Coordinates with QA/QC department to maintain quality service, safe, and clean work environment. Educates and directs personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Ensures operation of equipment by assisting with maintenance, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and maintaining a positive and motivating attitude within Vets Plus.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
3+ years progressive experience in a key management role at a manufacturing facility.
Previous experience in budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets to analyze data and trends.
Previous experience in using continuous improvement/lean tools to drive improvement.
Understanding of safety systems and previous experience enforcing safety rules and policies.
Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.
Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability. Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
Excellent scheduling, planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt.
Strong mathematical, analytical and decision-making skills.
Highly motivated, results oriented, driven.
Working conditions are normal for a environment. This position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
