JMI Realty, a Real Estate Investment Management Company based in downtown Austin is seeking a Staff Accountant with one or more years of experience for a key position within the Accounting team. The position provides exposure to a wide array of real estate transactions and ownership structures. The company offers strong opportunities for professional growth, as well as a top tier benefits package. This position will co-report to the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assistance with preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for multiple entities
Generate general ledger journal entries
Balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses
Fixed asset reporting, including capitalization of activity and depreciation
Partner equity account reconciliations
Intercompany billings
Compilation of audit and tax schedules
Special projects as assigned
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
1+ years of related Accounting experience
Fundamental knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures
Self driven and motivated to succeed
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Positive attitude and works well in team environment
Strong communication skills
High attention to detail
Intermediate Excel skills
