AvantGuard is currently seeking an accountant to work at our headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. This individual will serve as a key member of the accounting team, reporting directly to the Controller. To be successful in this position, the individual selected will be a self-starter with great attention to detail and the strong general accounting understanding. 2-5 years experience working in accounting as an accountant and a bachelor's degree in accounting or business is strongly desired.
As a Staff Accountant, you will
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Process payrolls in ADP
Assist in monthly customer invoicing
Maintain the company?s equipment leases
Make accruals, including payroll accruals and loan interest accruals
Pay/deduct employees? benefits as needed
Assist with the preparation of and update monthly metric reports
Prepare tax returns (sales and use, property, real property and others)
Assist in the administration of AG Cares, which is a charitable foundation that assists employees
Administer annual general liability and workers comp audits
Fixed asset tracking and depreciation reconciling
Assist in budget and financial forecasting by providing relevant information
Produce balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports as necessary
Research and analyze actual versus budget variance
Maintain financial security by following internal procedures and controls
Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and procedures
Assist with annual audits
Other accounting duties as assigned
What we're looking for...
2-5 years of accounting experience
Advanced degree in accounting or related field is desired
Proven knowledge of GAAP practices and standards
Competent with QuickBooks
Experience with Microsoft Office
Ability to communicate effectively
Team player and self-motivated
