Vice President of Accounting Job Opening in Moss Point, Mississippi - An accounting vice president is responsible for the maintenance of general ledgers and the preliminary preparation of financial statements. Accounting vice president jobs involve performing and/or supervising account analyses and reconciliations, devising internal reports useful to the accounting department and other departments, maintaining SOX compliance, issuing internal statements and reports on a timely basis, and meeting all external reporting requirements and deadlines. Furthermore, the supervision of staff involved in payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, revenue assurance, budgets, and inventory has to be carried out by the accounting vice president, along with the fielding of special projects. As an accounting vice president, one has to also prepare monthly/quarterly budget variance analyses and revised budgets as required. Accounting vice presidents often have a B.A./B.S. in Accounting; at least two years of experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and planning; and at least eight years of experience in the corporate finance environment of a publicly held company. Accounting vice presidents must be detail-oriented with excellent communications, interpersonal, and oral/written presentation skills and have the ability to manage staff and lead projects/teams independently. Must have experience in Banking or Credit Union.
