Controller / Accounting Manager Job Opening in Orange, California - Residential Real Estate Company is seeking a Controller to join its team to oversee all accounting activities of the company.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytics, be energetic, ability to think outside the box, willing to learn current processes and procedures applicable to this company, ability to be hands on as part of the accounting department as well as team management.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to : Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution
Work with other key executives and principals on a regular basis
Oversee the preparation of month-end, quarterly and year-end financial statements for numerous LLCs and LLPs under the company umbrella
Serve as final point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable issues
Manage and develop staff of 5 to 7 Accountants Manage preparation and support of all external audits
Daily cash management and AP approval for numerous LLCs / LLPs under the company umbrella.
Responsible for all activities of the accounting department, accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements, cash flow, annual budgets, general ledger, and bank reconciliation Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports Complete analysis of financial results with recommendations (strategic and tactical)
Manage company?s insurance program
Requirements: Experience and Skill Requirements for the Accounting Manager/Controller -
5+ years experiences as a Controller at a $50+ million company
BS in Accounting
Previous residential property management experience preferred
Strong communication skills
Strong financial modeling skills
MS Excel -- Expert
Big picture, outside the box thinking, and strategic focus
Additional Characteristics Must be a hands on ?doer? as well as a manager.
Entrepreneurial approach, high energy problem solver who is driven to develop answers rather than just identify issues
Excited by learning, willing to tackle challenges ranging from finance to real estate to insurance Strong people skills that enable him/her to build positive, trust-based relationships with co-workers.
Strong initiative and work ethic Strong time management skills
Must be flexible in order to handle any ?right now? tasks that arise.
