Accounting Manager Job Opening in San Juan Capistrano, California - ESSENTIAL PURPOSE : To manage the Accounting department in order to provide timely and accurate financial information to executive management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Hire, train, supervise, schedule, disciple and direct in-house accounting and bookkeeping staff, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.
Establish, maintain and enforce policies and procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures, for all golf Accounting and Revenue Audit functions.
Supervise cash management, preparation of cash banks and reconciling cash drops.
Recommend and enforce policies/procedures to maintain a solid internal cash control.
Maintain good banking relationships. Ability to open and maintain new bank accounts as necessary.
Ensure payables are paid in a timely manner, reviewing all checks and invoice back-ups before signature by ownership and ensure bank has sufficient balances before checks are generated.
Analyze monthly general ledger accounts as needed.
Prepare and support company audits (Payroll/Sales Tax/Worker Comp/External, etc.).
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports. Analyze NOI and suggest recommendations.
Facilitate and assist in preparation of annual budget.
Interact with the company?s CPA & tax consultants.
Act as the primary on-site contact for accounting and POS systems. Responsible to understand and oversee accounting and POS systems and to ensure systems remain up to date and function as expected.
Administer all employee insurance plans (Health/Dental/AFLAC, etc.).
Review and administer payroll process, including maintaining employee records for time offs ( days).
Prepare incentive and/or bonus calculations where applicable.
Monitor all accounting operations and make suggestions to optimize where appropriate.
Attend all mandatory meetings as directed, including weekly staff meeting.
Promote and comply with all policies and procedures.
Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
Practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
EDUCATION LEVEL : Bachelor?s degree in Accounting. English fluency required. Must have a minimum of five years experience in general accounting procedures, including one year experience in supervisory position. Computer/extensive Excel experience required. Golf experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES: CPA certification preferred.
