Accounting Manager Job Opening in Ontario, California - Supervises and coordinates general accounting activities including, but not limited to, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, and Cash Disbursements.
Essential Duties of the Position:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
Supervise accounting personnel in accordance with company policies. Address performance issues in a timely manner to maintain productivity and morale.
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of all monthly financial information and ensure all deadlines are met.
Prepares all financial, management, and forecasting reports.
Support budget and forecasting activities.
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
Ensure the accuracy of the inventory valuation and operational through put calculations.
Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Maintaining, updating and ensuring compliance of all accounting policies and procedures, including travel, expense reports, purchasing, depreciation, fixed assets, credit, etc?
Assist in the annual review process, including performance of the annual physical inventory.
Maintain and review all banking relationships.
Ensure that all accounting functions are cross-trained.
Prepare quarterly payroll tax, sales tax, and any other required reports.
Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)
Bachelors in Accounting or related field.
Minimum 3 ? 5 years experience in managing accounting functions, as well as managing accounting staff.
Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus. Working knowledge of inventory aspects.
Strong understanding of ERP interface is required.
PC literate, good excel skills a must, experience in word perfect and power point a plus.
