Paramedic EMT-P (FT & PRN OPEN) Job Opening in Las Vegas, Nevada - Fulfills and completes all assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
Collects information regarding chief complaint and / or current symptoms including a detailed patient history, and documents findings in the patient medical record. Reports findings to the healthcare provider on duty.
Assists clinical staff in the evaluation, treatment and care of patients.
Documents patient care as appropriate in the patient medical record.
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
Complete all necessary chart documentation in accordance with policy. Documentation must be legible and in English.
May assist in performing tasks such as obtaining preliminary information from the patient, obtaining baseline or initial vital signs, EKGs, blood draws, diagnostic laboratory testing, splinting and other basic functions; establishes peripheral IV access, and performs phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and lab specimen collection procedures.
Maintains and makes appropriate and correct entries into applicable clinical logs and records as required by facility policy and procedure.
Works directly under physicians and mid level practitioners, assisting them during exams, procedures, diagnostic testing and treatments.
Prepares and administers medications as ordered by the physician, (oral, subcutaneous, intravenous / infusion, intramuscular) and records administration and other relative data in the medical record.
Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications.
***May not administer IV Insulin, 1st dose IV Antibiotic Therapy, narcotics or any other ?high alert/double check? medication.
Will receive cross training to perform simple view x-rays.
