Java Software Developer Job Opening in Huntsville, Alabama - Omicron Research Corporation, a Leading Edge Government contractor in Huntsville Alabama, is seeking applicants for Java Software Developers to support our Army customer on Redstone Arsenal.
Job Responsibilities include: Work will be performed at our customer?s site on Redstone Arsenal. The successful candidate will work as part of an agile software development team that is developing a command and control (C2) system. The software developer will perform software analysis, design, and development according to established coding standards and guidelines. Will be responsible for interpreting and analyzing requirements obtained/derived from the Army customer; reviewing, verifying and validating system specifications and other design-related documentation. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment with multiple team members is a must. Also, must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable, flexible, and also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of Java Software Development Experience
Experience with Unix and Windows operating systems
Experience with the Agile Software Development Process
Active security clearance
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Android development
Experience with software development on Aviation, Missile Defense Agency, Geospatial, or Air Traffic Control projects
Experience with Atlassian, Git, and Agile
Required Education: Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics. An addition 4 years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
Eligibility: Only US citizens are eligible for this position. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and an Active Security Clearance is highly desired. The successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation.
