Eikon Research is searching for an electrical engineer intern to provide support on multiple projects involving the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Eikon Research is improving radar and sensor engineering and pushing for innovation every day!
Job Description:
This candidate must be flexible, self-motivated, and able to work effectively within deadlines. The candidate should be a quick learner and welcome a challenging work environment.
Familiarity with analytical tools, such as MATLAB, is a daily job requirement, and the integration of these tools into finished products are keys to contract fulfillment and mission success.
Candidate will work full-time during the summer months and will have the option to continue part-time employment during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Responsibilities will include:
Training under the guidance of a mentor to become a radar and infrared sensor engineer.
Working with the lead engineer to develop custom system simulations using MATLAB, Java and/or C++, including signal processing, waveform design, and effects.
Performing analysis of complex missile, radar / RF and Infrared (IR) systems through modeling and simulation.
Providing customer support through communication, briefings and live fire test support.
Required Qualifications:
Advancing towards a Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical area.
An interest to learn software modeling and simulation, system design, development, testing, and data collection.
Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Minimal experience and understanding of coding and software development including MATLAB, Java and/or C++.
Good communication skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
