Accounting Manager Job Opening in Morris Plains, New jersey - AHS Investment Corporation is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for our Morris Plains, NJ office. The Accounting Manager will manage department staff and will work closely with management to provide timely and accurate financial reporting.
AHS Investment Corporation is the for-profit affiliate of Atlantic Health System, a non-profit five hospital healthcare system. We provide health care services to the residents of NJ through our wholly owned subsidiaries which are At Home Medical, Atlantic Private Care and the Alliance Center for Weight Management. AHS Investment Corporation owns and manages real estate properties surrounding the member hospitals, is a Management Service Organization (MSO) providing administrative, management and financial services to other AHS organizations and has multiple joint ventures.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Prepare financial statements and/or review divisional statements prepared by staff within a specified time frame.
Prepare financial consolidation reports monthly incorporating multiple subsidiaries.
Provide management, guidance and direction to staff.
Prepare quarterly Board reports.
Prepare budgets for multiple subsidiaries.
Present financial statements, budgets and accounts receivable schedules to Board of Trustees.
Analyze financial data, accuracy of general ledger accounts and make adjustments as necessary.
Complete monthly and quarterly account analysis worksheets.
Prepare quarterly intercompany consolidation reports for Corporate office.
Maintain and reconcile balances on intercompany reports monthly.
Manage annual 1099/1096 preparation.
Manage Unclaimed Property process.
Responsible for yearend computer closing of financial data and the integrity of the general ledger account balances.
Coordinate annual audit of financial data with external accounting firm.
Create reporting tools to streamline processes and month-end close to meet all deadlines.
Transmit disbursement files to the bank in compliance with positive pay fraud protection.
Prepare and/or review of monthly reconciliations for multiple subsidiaries.
Provide assistance to Controller, as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA/MBA a plus.
Minimum 7 years accounting experience required with 2 years hands on responsibility for multi-entity financial statement preparation
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience required
Experience in healthcare and/or non-for profit industries a plus.
Demonstrate effective, frequent, independent judgment on complex situations
Must possess excellent communication, presentation & computer skills including Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
NetSuite software experience a plus
Must be detail oriented, organized with the ability to work independently to identify, solve problems, and produce quality and timely results
