Purpose:
The purpose of the Logistics Accounting Analyst position is to oversee the audit, reconciliation, and payment process of all freight invoices, develop and maintain reports to analyze distribution and transportation expenses, and support the Logistics Controller with all ad-hoc reporting related to distribution and transportation.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the audit, reconciliation and payment process of freight invoices
Reconcile and close the G/L accounts of the Transportation and Distribution CCs each accounting period
Compare Transportation and Distribution account budgets to actual, and investigate and explain variances
Assist with the preparation & analysis of Distribution & Transportation KPI monthly
Reconcile expected transportation rates to actual
Prepare account reconciliations along with the supporting sub-ledgers as assigned
Manage documentation and testing of internal controls as related to the freight processes
Support Logistics Controller with all recurring and ad-hoc reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field with applicable experience required
2+ years of relevant business experience required
Experience in the transportation industry will be heavily favored
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel & Access) required
Large-scale ERP system experience required; SAP experience strongly preferred
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required
Ability to manage multiple projects at once and follow through on outstanding tasks required
Ability to complete projects timely and accurately in a fast-paced work environment required
