About the Opportunity:
In the InnovaSystems team model, the development constituency advocates for the technical perspective of the project/solution. In addition to being the primary solution builders, development is responsible for thoughtful technical decisions clean design, good bottom-up estimates, high quality maintainable code and unit tests.
The Mid Database Developers? role is to design and maintain flexible and efficient relational database designs, clearly communicate the design benefits and drawbacks, and develop database functions and stored procedures that are needed to implement the desired application functionality. The Mid Database Developer is capable of relying on experience, skills and technical knowledge to implement solid relational designs and efficient solutions, as well as coaching or mentoring fellow developers as needed. Mid Database Developer participates in code reviews, design discussions, requirements reviews, and should be capable of understanding the complete architecture of the application, its interfaces with other applications and the impacts of design decisions on each. Mid Database Developer may develop ?Proof of Concept? solutions, make recommendations for the direction of the application architecture, and take the lead in implementing those solutions. The majority of their time will be spent actively analyzing requirements, estimating effort required, detailing the sub-tasking needed, and writing code for assigned development tasks. Mid Database Developer is expected to learn and adopt the established company and team development processes and actively participate in suggesting improvements to those processes.
Responsible for daily tasking, participating in scheduled team meetings, and assessment of requirements for database development needs.
Responsible for database project solution structure, configuration management, source code, and documentation
Designs, implements, and maintains database structures to support Web Software application data retention needs, including support for database unit testing, installation, and modification.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills within a multi-disciplinary team of peers
Demonstrates and executes technical vision in collaboration with Tech Lead, Solution Architect and other team developers.
Requires strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to express ideas and design benefits/drawbacks to both technical and non-technical audience
Responsible for taking lead on major database development tasks, as well as mentoring and coaching of development peers
About You:
U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a D.o.D Secret Security Clearance.
Minimum 4 years of direct professional experience with relevant development tools, technologies, and methods including:
MS Visual Studio (VS) 2013 or later with SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) and Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS)
SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 2008 or later, SQL Server Profiler
MS SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
Schema Definition Language (SDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) with T-SQL
Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS), GIT version control system.
Bonus Points:
Windows PowerShell and SQL PowerShell module (sqlps)
Automated database testing
Services Oriented Architecture, WCF, WebAPI
Agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
