Accountant (Public Accounting) Job Opening in Elk Grove Village, Illinois - Position Summary
Porte Brown is seeking an Accountant that will be responsible for client assignments which include accoutning services, tax, and audit.
Position Responsibilities
Assist partners and managers in consulting with closely held business and individual clients on financial and tax planning matters
Prepare tax returns, including consolidated or multi-state business returns, complex pass-through entities and complex individuals
Identify and research tax planning and compliance issues
Complete monthly and quarterly accounting projects at client locations
Demonstrate an interest in practice development
Advise and coache team members and sets example by demonstrating high energy level and enthusiasm
Actively supports new initiatives
Identify opportunities to improve assignment profitability and efficiency
Pursues self-development opportunities
Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assigned tasks
Must be able to manage own work schedule
Education and Experience Requirements
Must have a Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam
Completed CPA is a plus
Must have 1-5 years of experience in an accounting firm
Proficiency and advanced understanding of accounting and tax software
Audit experience is a plus
Strong client rapport and management skills
Strong technical skills
Strong problem solving capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex accounting information to all levels of clients
