Nutrition Assistant/Ticket Aide Job Opening in Houston, Texas - Job Summary:
The overall purpose of the Aide III position is to assist the Nutrition Services Director in obtaining, recording and maintaining patient profiles, including food preferences, choices and allergies. This position may assist in maintaining the nutritional needs of the Patient by ensuring dietetic standards are upheld during Patient meal selection, tray ticket preparation, snack preparation, and dining services.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year?s experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong leadership skills, including customer service and staff education.
Ability to read, write, and speak English language and with a knowledge of arithmetic and units of measurement used in food preparation.
Skilled in nutrition screens, care plans and MDS?s.
Experience with tray card software.
Computer literacy.

Essential Functions:
Obtains Patient food choices daily and records on tray tickets and/or tray ticket software.
May obtain and record food preferences and allergies with 24-48 hours of
May enter food preferences into tray ticket software.
Prepares and prints tray tickets daily.
Prints dining room and hall menus as needed.
May complete nutrition screens.
Assists with meal ticket sorting in dining rooms
May assist with set up of Cafes
May print nourishment labels.
May assist with preparation of cold food items, desserts and nourishments.
May maintain the diet roster, nourishment lists and tray ticket profiles.
Adapts individual menus to Patient preferences.
Reviews Patient menu selections to ensure therapeutic diet compliance.
May audit tray ticket software for proper diets.
Obtains and addresses Patient and family feedback in conjunction with other department managers.
Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee?s responsibility to enforce it.
