Pharmacy Technician Job Opening in Metairie, Louisiana - Job Description:
We are looking for a strong team player who is passionate about customers that can join a growing independent pharmacy. The candidate should be willing to learn and be able to multitask and wear different hats due the many services provided as well as meet physicians and their supporting staff to maintain professional relationships.
Part-time and Full-time positions available.
Pharmacy hours are Mon-Fri. We are closed major holidays. Salary is based on experience.
Pharmacy Technician Job Duties:
Accurate data entry skills [patient demographics, computer entry, insurance adjudication]
Filling medications, maintaining drug inventory, answering phone calls, coordinating deliveries, filling prescriptions
Compounding medications in the compounding lab
Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Strong time management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment
Excellent attention to detail
Flexible and proactive to meet varied patient needs
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Able to effectively present information to the patient
Dedicated to excellence and quality
Able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals
Strong interpersonal and "people" skills
Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
:
Licensed pharmacy technician in good standing with the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy or willing to apply to get a technician trainee license and become certified within 1 year
Able to type 70+ WPM
Preferred experience :
Pharmacy Technician: 1 year
Required education:
High school or equivalent
CPhT, Louisiana active license required
