Position Description:
Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Benefits Administrator to work in our fast-paced Global Business and Technology Center located in Plymouth, MI. This position offers excellent opportunities to join our growing Corporate Team!
We offer an exciting opportunity for a talented, well organized individual who is seeking a full-time, permanent position within our stable, yet growing Company. This individual will provide assistance with the administration of benefit programs from the corporate level, including interacting with the site TM representatives and benefit vendors in addition to data entry and maintenance in SAP (HRIS). Attention to detail and relationship management skills are the foundation for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Transmits files to appropriate benefit carriers (medical/dental, life products, and 401(k)).
Completes benefit billing by reconciling carrier reports, requesting benefit disbursements, and reconciling benefit accounts.
Assists with leaves of absence (i.e. communicating with site TM, inputting associates on leave in the HRIS, & out inconsistencies and/or issues with the site TM and/or the carrier as needed).
Monitors/inputs insurance premium payments for associates on leaves of absences and communicates information as necessary.
Communicates with the site TM and the benefit vendor to resolve Customer Identification Process (CIP) issues as they relate to establishing a Health Savings Account (HSA).
Responsible for 401(k) loans.
Responsible for completing audits/queries on a weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly basis to ensure all associates are correctly enrolled in appropriate benefits plans (medical/dental/HSA, life products, and 401(k)).
Processes life, AD&D/supplemental AD&D, supplemental dependent term life and supplemental employee term life claims.
Assists with the ongoing maintenance, improvement, and testing of SAP (HRIS) system.
Maintains department supplies/inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and/or verifying receipt of supplies.
Assists with annual Open Enrollment process and any other communication and education campaigns throughout the year.
Assists site TM representatives with benefit related questions as necessary.
Works effectively with other departments as needed. (i.e. Payroll, TM, General Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, etc.)
Assists the Benefits Department with any other miscellaneous duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related degree.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e. reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and/or presentations)
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Solid analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to accept constructive criticism and deal calmly and effectively with , TM and associates.
Ability to travel to sites during Open Enrollment and/or other benefits initiatives.
Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for up to 4 hours.
