General Summary
Laboratory Billing Solutions (LBS) is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer. We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical and presentation skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in medical billing/coding, preferably in clinical and anatomic pathology, and the ability to work independently. The selected candidate will need to spend some time in the Portsmouth, NH office where the company is headquartered, but may be able work remotely much of the time after the initial orientation and training period.
LBS is constantly looking to find new ways to improve billing and collections for all our clients and we expect all candidates to share the same desire, initiative, and passion for their work as we do.
Skills Required
Strong organization and communication skills to lead all companywide compliance in service and training programs
Ability to quickly become a strong subject matter expert/ resource for staff and clients on laboratory issues
Solid skills to research and develop company positions on complex legal issues
Ability to organize and undertake reimbursement, coding, and procedural audits and clearly summarize findings and recommendations
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet agreed upon deadlines
Computer literacy with experience in word processing and accounting programs, and excellent research skills and a good knowledge regarding financial/medical institution policies
Ability to ensure that company regulations, rules, policies and laws are adhered to and administered legally and investigations are handled appropriately and promptly and to seek outside legal assistance when necessary
Experience / Education
2-3 years experience in Compliance
Bachelors degree in related field
Law/medical background is a plus
