POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Vice President of sales position is responsible for directing and coordinating national sales. As such, the position is part of the company?s executive team and responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company growth goals, and for managing, training, and coaching the sales team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop plans and strategies for generating business and achieving the company?s sales goals
Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement among the sales teams
Manage the sales team to deliver profitable growth
Define optimal sales force structure
Hire and develop sales staff
Make the sales team known as an employer of choice attracting and retaining top talent
Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets
Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives
Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required
Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function
Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting and accompanying monitoring metrics to measure adherence to forecasts
Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team
Work closely with marketing to establish successful support programs
Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Creative, independent strategic thinker capable of developing sales strategies; and taking an idea/concept and bringing it to life
Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations
Demonstrated ability to define, refine, and effectively communicate the company?s value propositions to key decision makers.
Exceptionally strong technical skills in planning, forecasting, and analysis.
Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop sales personnel.
Experience in building the infrastructure required to support significant revenue growth.
Must be tough-minded and able to continually challenge the status quo in a respectful manner in order to help the organization reach the next level of revenue performance.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field.
10+ years of sales and management experience in the senior living industry or related industry required.
