The Studio Finance Team Provides Support to Cross-functional Business Partners As Follows:
We are looking for a seasoned manager to build out and manage our day-to-day studio finance and accounting. This position will reside in the company?s San Diego headquarters and will report to the Director of Finance. The perfect candidate for this role is someone that has a deep knowledge of video game finance and accounting, understands how best to support P2P workflows, can drive innovative process improvements to help us scale, has the courage to challenge prevailing assumptions, and can develop strong cross functional relationships with business partners across the company.
Finance Operations owner ? You will be the embedded resource that understands the nature of the business and owns finance related tasks (end to end P2P support from setting up new vendors, reviewing contracts, creating PO?s, reviewing invoices, vendor management, etc.)
Accounts Receivable ? Process customer payments, issue invoices and follow up with Business Intelligence team on variances.
Accounts Payable ? Process payroll, process invoices, create PO?s and provide non-PO invoice coding to enable timely and accurate invoice processing.
FP&A - Ensure accurate coding to provide meaningful reporting, help track actuals to budget and communicate any expected variances to Director of Finance.
Accounting - Help facilitate a timely and accurate month-end close by owning the accrual process and explaining variance drivers.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing day-to-day Studio Finances
Building out a ?best in class? finance support model
Building relationships with cross-functional business partners
Driving innovative process improvement projects to automate and simplify as we scale
Managing P2P process workflows: reviewing contracts, requesting new suppliers on behalf of the business, creating PO?s, providing non-PO coding to AP, reviewing and approving invoices on behalf of the business
Working with Director of Finance to track actual spending to budget. Understand, communicate and explain variances
Working with Director of Finance to streamline the accounting close process by ensuring the completeness and accuracy of accruals
Working with Director of Finance and IT to drive system related enhancement
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience
Degree in relevant field
Experience working at a video game or film/TV studio
Experience managing the P2P process
Understanding of US GAAP; MBA or CPA is a plus
Royalty accounting experience is a plus
Experience with Netsuite ERP or other cloud based ERP systems is a plus
Ability to proactively cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with team members and business partners
Intellectual curiosity about the business and solving problems
Proven project management experience; a systems expert who is comfortable implementing and improving financial systems
Advanced Excel experience with the ability to navigate large data sets
A strong passion for Video Games
