Software Engineering Lead Job Opening in Columbia, Maryland - Information security company is looking for a Director of Software Engineering who loves to lead engineers, loves to code, and is motivated [by energy drinks] to make a big impact in a small environment. Candidate will be responsible for leading a diverse team of engineers spanning devops, back-end data analytics, back-end API development, mobile applications, and web-based applications. Candidate will be responsible for helping the team conceptualize and validate designs, work through implementation roadblocks, and ultimately help drive the team to hit project schedules. Dedication to a vision and the ability to see it through are paramount, as the job involves working on a spectrum of advanced security applications for a wide variety of clients.
You'll get to act in a senior role working closely with highly talented engineers who double as likable people to be around. To Be Considered:

Experience Needed:
3+ years experience in engineering leadership
5+ years experience in software development
Expert level software development skills in a core language such as C/C++, or Java
Working knowledge of C/C++, Java, and Python
Working knowledge of Android mobile development
Working knowledge of HTML5/CSS/JS and common web frameworks
Working knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL database technologies
Working knowledge of software development workflows (Agile)
Working knowledge of DevOps/automation techniques
Strong passion for the industry and a continuously expanding skill set
Strong communication skills
Desire to work on cutting-edge products with integral real-world applications
Nice To Have's:
BS Computer Science / BS Computer Engineering
Familiarity with Cyber Security
Contributions to a large open source project
