Financial Analyst Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - Description
A financial analyst has primary duties of assessing the financial health, valuation, business model, and leadership of U.S. publicly-traded companies, with emphasis on downside risk. The analyst will present recommendations internally to the senior staff to assist in evaluating whether or not to provide various insurance products linked to stock price movements. Opportunity for frequent interaction with CEOs and CFOs, as the analyst progresses.
Qualifications
Experience reviewing financial statements is preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
Candidate must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail, and to work under quick timelines. Our desired candidate possesses high initiative and curiosity, professional verbal and written communication abilities as well as strong analytical skills.
The analyst will prepare detailed written reviews and perform financial analysis using collected data. With respect to analysis, the ideal candidate will be able to use critical thinking, professional skepticism and well-reasoned arguments to question norms, differentiate between immaterial technicalities and material facts, and come to independent conclusions.
