Linux Administrator Job Opening in dallas, Texas - Linux Administrator Duties: Responsible for deployment, patching, managing, and maintaining LINUX Red Hat Enterprise, Tomcat, and Apache servers. This position focuses on making sure organization's systems are secure, tuned for optimum performance, delivering required information to end-users, and interacting properly with other systems. In addition, this position will perform implementation and maintenance of applications as required. Design, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot servers, backup devices, and monitoring interfaces in an UNIX/LINUX environment Perform OS building, configuration, group policy development, and systems management Lead the deployment of application code and support other application management functions Review changes, support issues, functionality changes, and requirements for server Act within identified guidelines, standards, and policies Work in an Integrated Project Team (ITP) environment requiring interaction with other server engineers, users, and client managers in identifying requirements, specifications and managing project planning activities Evaluate advanced technologies and provide recommendations regarding standardization, sizing, and costs for server purchases Plan and provide for updating operating system software to comply with support criteria Perform in a fast-paced environment where project deadlines are critical and multiple projects run in parallel Work independently with minimal supervision as well as function as a successful and participating team member Requires occasional work outside of normal business hours and less than 10% travel Reports to IT Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ideal candidate will have experience administering LINUX systems in a production high-availability environment, including the following skills: Must be US citizen with or eligible to obtain Federal Security Clearance 2 or more years of LINUX administration and support in production environment Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, 4 & 5 Server Understanding of security tools and server configurations to support security compliance efforts Demonstrated experience with Tomcat and Apache server administration Understanding of Java-based applications and their operation in RHEL environment Experience with enterprise data backup systems and data storage systems Scripting ability, familiarity with Puppet or other configuration management tools Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize and work on multiple tasks at one time Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting of subject matter experts, vendors, subcontractors, and clients Excellent problem solving/root cause analysis skills Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio Preferred Skills: Demonstrated understanding of VMWare ESX server 3.0/4.0 Experience administering WebLogic server Administration and implementation of MS SQL, Oracle, or any Relational DBMS Experience working with Dell hardware and/or EqualLogic SAN UNIX/LINUX certifications Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required Compensation: DOE Benefits: Medical, Dental, STD, LTD, Life, 401(k) Location: Dallas, TX (Lewisville office) PLEASE APPLY TO THE LINK LISTED: http:?org=K2SHARE&cws=1&rid=24 dallas tx texas
