Student Internship Job Opening in Nashville, Tennessee - Project C.U.R.E. (Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment) is the world?s largest non-profit organization providing donated medical supplies and equipment to hospitals, clinics, and community health centers in the developing world. Project C.U.R.E.'s Internship Program provides undergraduate college students the opportunity to learn about global healthcare and the nonprofit sector while gaining hands-on experience at our Nashville headquarters. Interns develop both professionally and personally as they contribute to Project C.U.R.E.'s mission: to identify, solicit, collect, sort and deliver medical supplies and services according to the imperative needs of developing countries around the world.
We have positions available for undergraduate students in a variety of majors. Project C.U.R.E. interns will work with the Operations Director to design an individualized internship experience, enabling students the ability to serve the organization by completing projects and pursuing opportunities relevant to their interests and courses of study. Examples of the types of internships available include:
Administration and Nonprofit Management
Operations and Logistics
Process Control and Improvement
Outreach and Communications
Biomedical Technology
Projects vary based on major and type of internship. Internships are structured to be approximately:
25% volunteer management (coordinating and leading groups of volunteers in the sorting and packaging of medical supplies and equipment)
15% administrative (submitting data in volunteer management systems, coordinating and scheduling deliveries/pick-ups, answering phones, maintaining donation records for receipts, etc)
60% special projects/research (varies by major and type of internship)
Examples of special projects/research include:
Conducting research on medical devices and recipient communities
Developing training materials
Procuring supplies
Volunteer recruitment and management
Volunteer event planning
Planning and executing fundraising events
Donor and community partner relationship management
Warehouse and medical supply management
Repairing and testing biomedical equipment
Inventory and process analytics
Social media management and marketing
This is a great opportunity to support a worthwhile cause while gaining valuable skills and experiences. Interns may be eligible to receive class credit through their universities.
