Senior Systems Application Engineer Job Opening in Alpharetta, Georgia - The Systems Applications Engineer (SAE) is responsible for ensuring the success of customers and potential customers by coordinating and executing end-to-end customer solutions. The SAE?s job will involve Dispersive Network and Storage product solution planning, design, staging, installation, training, and assisting technical support with advanced trouble shooting. In a lab environment, the engineer will build and evaluate Dispersive networking infrastructure systems for potential and actual customer solutions. The engineer will be involved at all levels of customer pre and post sales engagements.
Our ideal candidate will be an IT professional with extensive Linux experience, an advanced understanding of networking and security protocols, as well as strong scripting skills. They will be self-driven with excellent debugging, critical thinking, and analysis skills. We need people who are fast learners and can apply that knowledge.
Required Technical Skills
Experience managing a small team (minimum of 3 years)
Significant understanding of Linux Operating System architecture (minimum of 5 years of experience operating Linux platforms)
In depth hands on UNIX/Linux system administration skills and setting up Linux networking (minimum of 5 years)
Experience with security, networking, encryption and firewalls and related products (minimum of 3 years)
Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience with L2/L3 Switching/Routing, IPv4, TCP/UDP, L4-L7 , private network configuration, and firewalls
In-depth understanding of protocol and network analyzers and tools
In-depth understanding of SSH, HTTP/S, DHCP, and DNS protocols
Experience using Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and IOS based platforms for multiple networking configurations and applications
Clear understanding of the software development process and lifecycle
Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell preferred)
Knowledge of cloud computing, virtual machines, and IoT
In-depth understanding of protocol and network analyzers and tools
Required skills :
Ability to create technical and business documentation
Must be self-driven and able to collaborate with x-functional teams
Deadline and detail oriented
Must have experience working in highly technical, mission-critical environment. Operations background a plus.
Must be able to plan, execute, and complete projects in a timely manner
Must have an analytical mind and excellent problem solving skills that can apply your knowledge to solve issues in innovative ways
Highly motivated and able to drive initiatives cross functionally
Desired Skills/Education:
Bachelors/Masters in a technical field (CS/EE preferred)
A development background is helpful, but not required
