Description: The Staff Accountant works with the Accounting & Finance Managers in all aspects of finance, to help with weekly reporting and preparation of data, analysis, etc. Must have experience with ERP accounting software, and must work carefully and deliberately with an eye toward detail while in a fast paced business environment.
Responsibilities:
Help preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
Help preparing general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Help preparing payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Completes sales order invoicing tasks for the department.
Records A/R payments and applications by maintaining remittance reports.
Posts transactions related to inventory receipts, transfers, returns, etc.
Required Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
Degree in Finance and or Accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel IS A MUST
Experience with Microsoft GreatPlains accounting software is a plus
Interpersonal communication and writing skills
Attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
Self-starter with high degree of problem solving skills
5 or more years of accounting experience
A systemic approach to problem solving
Work well in a team-oriented environment
A positive attitude
