Account Payable Clerk Job Opening in Houston, Texas - We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounts Payable Clerk (AP). Applicants should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, telephone presence, and the ability to multi-task. The Accounting Clerk collects and prepares daily funds from hotel outlets for bank deposit, processes credit cards and provides change to outlets in accordance with cash handling and accounting policies and procedures. In addition, the Accounting Clerk verifies, obtains approvals and pays all invoices in a timely, accurate manner following brand standards and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Monitor all group master accounts from pre-payment through checkout, ensuring correctness of billing. Prepare and submit invoices with proper documentation in a timely manner.
Prepare and submit individual travel voucher wholesale accounts with proper documentation. Prepare and post city ledger adjustments as needed.
Handle guest billing issues and work with reservations and front desk to ensure guest satisfaction.
Research and respond to all credit card charge backs within time limits set by credit card companies, processing the necessary adjustments when required.
Research credit applications for direct billing and process for approval. Maintain list of approved accounts and update per expiration or renewal.
Assist with the short- and long-term financial plans for the hotel that support overall hotel objectives.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and all applicable laws.
Prepare reports required by Management.
Support Controller and Director of Finance & Operations to meet hotel financial goals.
Responsible for the processing, recording, and billing of debts owed to the hotel.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Accounting Degree, preferred
2 years of full cycle accounts payable experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
DATA PLUS experience is a plus
Needs to be a self-starter, and able to work independently.
knowledge of how to use Quickbooks;
needs to be PC proficient (especially using Microsoft Office ? Outlooks, Word, Excel, etc.)
Have exceptional data entry skills.
*We would like an AP Clerk with experience working in hospitality, but it is not necessary.
