This position is accountable for the accounting operations of multiple corporations, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
The position requires a self-driven and highly motivated professional to lead the accounting operation for a national manufacturing company. The primary responsibility will focus on serving as the senior financial leader for the assigned division/business unit(s) with responsibility for planning and developing a vision for the accounting organization that emphasizes accountability, accuracy, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate must have a track record of getting things done, a personal style that relies on sound decision making, and solid business judgment to add value across the organization. The successful candidate will exhibit proven accounting and financial leadership skills in a complex, fast paced, corporate environment.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively participate in all accounting functions which include, but not limited to G/L, A/P, A/R, inventory, costing, sales taxes, and financial reporting.
Develop monthly accounting and financial reports and analysis by creating spreadsheet reports for senior and business unit management
Understands and applies technical accounting concepts for multiple bases of accounting
Responsible for implementation and adherence to the Company's framework of internal controls
Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance
Conforms with and abides by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and safety rules
Qualified candidates will have experience in the following:
Month End Close
Journal Entries, posting to General Ledger
Account Reconciliations
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll
Financial Analysis
Cost Accounting and Inventory experience
Job Requirements:
3+ years of Accounting & Finance experience
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
Must be organized and be able to multi-task
Requires very good organizational, interpersonal, and communications
Must be proficient in computerized accounting software
Must be trustworthy and maintain confidentiality of all company records and information
Advance proficiency with MS Office applications and related accounting and finance software programs;
Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of management;
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced, busy environment;
Ability to use sound judgment to effectively solve problems within the scope of the position
Accountabilities:
Coordinates and oversees the daily management of all general accounting functions and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, and directs the preparation and distribution of operating and financial reports required within and outside the organization;
Directs the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial reports;
Coordinates all entities intercompany reconciliations to ensure proper classifications, balances and fund transfers;
Installs and maintains computerized general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and fixed asset system; controls the structure of the modules for all entities;
Evaluates existing procedures for daily functions to determine methods for reducing time and cost of accounting operations;
Performs other work related duties as required or assigned.
