Med Tech Job Opening in Lake Orion, Michigan - We have a current full-time position for Med Tech at our new Beacon Square facility located in Lake Orion Michigan. This state of the art facility is comprised of Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care units. We are looking for an energetic individual that has some experience working with Senior Citizens environment.
Position Summary:
The Med Tech position is a multifaceted position that involves being a care provider, medical aide, and leader within our Pomeroy Living communities. In addition to administering medication, Med Techs work with Caregivers to ensure that our residents maintain their independence and dignity while ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Duties and responsibilities:
Distribute and administer medication to residents timely as prescribed by the physician.
Administer breathing and skin treatment to residents according to physician?s prescription.
Accurately record the administration of medication.
Assess, monitor and document residents? progress, symptoms and medication reactions to the charge nurse.
Reports changes in resident?s condition to the charge nurse.
Inform Director of Wellness/charge nurse of all refusals, changes and/or discontinuation of medications.
Perform and records vital signs, weights and finger stick blood sugar monitoring.
Collects samples for testing.
Receive deliveries from pharmacy, checks deliveries against orders and verifies accuracy.
Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practice by using standard precautions.
Maintain compliance to resident?s rights and confidentiality.
Maintain a clean and organized medication cart and medication room.
Perform certified Nursing assistance duties as assigned by supervisior.
Routinely inspects, cleans and monitors equipment and supply to ensure safety.
Maintains medication cart inventory and restocking.
Assist with meals and clean up meal-related items.
Completes a detailed oral report, clear and concise written documentation of daily events.
Ability to adapt to constantly changing environments while still proving high quality care.
Demonstrate integrity and honesty while interacting with residents, guests, team members and managers.
Promotes resident?s wellness and life engagement in the community.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prefer recent experience in a healthcare environment and completion of Medication pass administration training.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Competency in using electronic medical records.
Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively with guests, vendors, supervisors and staff members.
