Responsibilities:
Qualify projects based on bid documents.
Review and analyze specifications, drawing, sketches or bills of material to determine the scope of the project.
Perform take-offs and estimation of material quantities.
Qualify exceptions to bid documents.
Initiate RFI's related to bid process.
Request quotes from subcontractor and suppliers.
Review of subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure accuracy and scope compliance.
Review subcontractor and suppliers proposals for project compliance and completeness.
Assist in creating proposals for general contractors.
Provide ongoing support to project management team as required throughout the course of the project, including project hand off to the project management and engineering teams, responding to contractor questions, providing back up information, selecting and negotiating with vendors for purchasing specialty items.
Revise estimates and budgets when the scope of the project changes and produce change orders as requested.
Practice value engineering; assess if processes are up to Handorn's standards and offer recommendation on how we could better utilize our resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
Degrees in Engineering, mathematics, economics, political science, finance, computer science or construction management a plus.
Must be extremely detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize and manage complex projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel a plus.
Ability to provide accurate answers and explain deviations to general contractors and engineers
Must possess strong organization skills.
Must possess strong math skills.
Must be team oriented, working well with peers and management.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to consistently meet due dates.
Ability to work under constant pressure.
