Job Details
Must be Louisiana licensed and Board Certified, or Board eligible, in Internal Medicine. Will report directly to the Medical Director of Inpatient Services. This is a full time, exempt position. Shift-based scheduling with the plan for the program to provide 24/7 in-house coverage.
Schedule: shift based, 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hour shifts
Patients per Shift: 15 to 18, includes admissions, discharges and subsequent visits
Open ICU ? pulmonary/critical care physicians help manage all ICU patients
Procedures: not required
Night Coverage: expectation for 7 to 10 night shifts per year ? designated Nocturnists cover most night shifts for the group
Specialty and Sub specialty Coverage: all specialties available including IR, NS, interventional cardiology, etc.
Code Blue/Rapid Response Teams include hospitalists
