Registered Nurse Job Opening in Metairie, Louisiana - POSITION SUMMARY:
Registered Nurse at the Tulane Neurosciences East Jefferson Clinic is responsible for the delivery and management of patient care and the oversight of clinic staff members training. He/she utilizes the nursing process, the healthcare environment and current technology to provide a climate which optimizes patient care and staff development. She/he performs a variety of direct patient care activities and assists with procedures to appropriate level of training and established procedures. Documents interactions in the patient's electronic medical record. Assist physicians with procedures as requested. Performs clerical functions to support the practice as instructed, stocks and maintains physical environment of exam and procedure rooms, and crash cart. Codes and schedules physician surgeries, orders tests, as per physician orders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : (Note: Only the following two criteria?one education and one experience?will be used for screening qualified applicants.)
RN or LPN with current licensure required. Must be licensed through the State of Louisiana by date of hire.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY: (Note: The following criteria will not be used in screening qualified applicants but may be considered in the final decision-selection process of candidates interviewed.)
Minimum 1 year experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
