Accounting Coordinator Job Opening in Des Moines, Iowa - Palmer Group is recruiting an Accounting Coordinator for an equipment industry client located in Des Moines. The individual in this position will provide daily accounting support for the accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, general ledger, and account reconciliation processes. Responsibilities:
Document equipment sales in system, make associated journal entries
Process equipment billings, ensure all information is accurate
Bill fuel to various departments
Perform service labor recap analysis, communicate results to management
Coordinate collection efforts and make collection calls
Act as a backup and provide support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
Ensure payments are processed accurately
Reconcile Accounts Payable to the General Ledger
Receive, investigate, and resolve Accounts Payable questions and issues
Write manual checks as necessary
Develop an understanding of vendor floor plans and work with staff to select the best options for financing equipment
Utilize software to maintain floor plan and equipment financing information
Review invoices, statements, and the equipment financed report at month-end
Make payoff/curtailment and dealer settlement allowance decisions on equipment
Order office supplies
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent relevant experience
3+ years of credit and collections experience with direct customer contact
High degree of familiarity with general accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable procedures
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Experience with QuickBooks or Oracle a plus
Complex analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening abilities
Ability to interact professionally with all customers and staff
Ability to effectively organize and manage time, tasks, and projects
Ability to deal with confidential or sensitive information
Detail and accuracy-oriented
High level of dependability and integrity
Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and meet expected deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $42,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
