Resource Development Associate Job Opening in Seattle, Washington - The National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association fulfills society?s most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified compassionate adult will fight for and protect an abused or neglected child?s best interests. The mission of the National CASA Association, together with its state and local member programs, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the United States can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive. But today, only 35% of the children in the system have access to a CASA/GAL volunteer. The National CASA Association is committed to ensuring that 100% of the children in the system have access to a CASA/GAL volunteer by working with, in and through strong, effective state organizations.
The Resource Development Associate is an important member of the National CASA Advancement Team and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the donor database, Raiser?s Edge. This person will be the Raiser?s Edge power user and in-house expert with a special emphasis on maintaining constituent records and creating accurate analysis and reports. By maintaining accurate records and maximizing information within the database, the Associate plays an integral role in the stewardship, recognition, and solicitation of National CASA?s various constituencies. The Associate also provides general administrative support to the Advancement Team.
Responsibilities include:
Develop best-practice system for operationalizing donor cultivation and documentation system using Raiser?s Edge.
Manage all aspects of donor database:
Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other donor correspondence in timely manner
Input, update, and monitor database records
Maintain foundation, corporate, and individual donor files
Generate weekly and monthly fundraising reports.
Conduct preliminary research on current and prospective corporate, foundation and individual donors.
Collaborate with Finance on monthly reconciliation and to ensure all contributions are recorded properly.
Maintain advanced knowledge of Raiser?s Edge software in order to provide technical assistance as needed.
Maximize use of the database by documenting policies and procedures and making recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
Develop and maintain efficient systems for data cleansing, data entry, gift processing, prospect research, and relationship management.
Maintain and organize funding information within the database, including but not limited to, proposal activity, prospect research, donor communications; follows-up with donor requests and queries.
Provide support for mailing and communications by running reports and preparing data; creates and maintains queries in donor database, and running and producing lists and directories on an as-needed basis.
Periodically review development web pages to initiate updates with the Communications team; regularly reviews charity listings to initiate updates and fulfill the annual CFC and similar applications.
Responsible for general administrative support for Advancement Team and department initiatives.
Perform all other duties as needed to support organizational goals and priorities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Possess the ability to understand multi-step database routines and to execute them with a high level of accuracy and quality on a frequent basis
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively internally and externally
Demonstrate ability to embrace and exemplify organizational competencies and values
Work well under pressure with deadlines and be skilled in prioritizing responsibilities
Demonstrate a commitment to work collaboratively with others
Become a steward and ambassador for the CASA/GAL mission and brand
Bachelor?s degree and 3-5 years? experience in nonprofit fund development required; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience
Minimum 2 years? experience managing and using Raiser?s Edge; experience with Raiser?s Edge NXT preferred
Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of current industry standards and practices (fundraising practices and accounting principles)
Strong research, analytical, planning, and project management skills
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to present information concisely and effectively
