Job Description
MCFA is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Junior Mechanical Engineer. The role is a position supporting our client in the Aberdeen, MD area.
The responsibilities of this role may include:
Energy Auditing and Energy modelling
Design and Administration (Construction Management) tasks
Planning, implementation and management of a number of collaborative studies and projects for multiple clients
Document control and Design review facilitation and support
Working closely with the MCFA Management Team and their clients to prioritize and execute initiatives and activities
Coordinating with stakeholders and ensures full coordination as necessary to promote success in achieving program/project objectives
Writing and editing reports, studies and associated documents
Preparing detailed papers and spreadsheets
Preparing for, attending, and/or leading meetings with clients, public, contractors and others
Independently developing solutions and execute correctly, on time and to budget
Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering
5 years engineering experience
PE in Maryland a plus
Minimum of 3-5 years HVAC design experience
Construction Administration and Construction Management experience
Engineering trade coordination
Institutional, Health Care and/or Industrial experience is preferred
Leadership and organizational management skills
Problem solving abilities
Ability to organize work and effectively manage time
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Meticulous attention to detail
Resourcefulness when responding to time sensitive situations
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Knowledge of project management software (i.e. MS Project, etc.)
Substantial experience with office automation tools (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Working knowledge of Trane Traces or higher
Working knowledge / familiarization of building codes
Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
United States citizenship - legally authorized to work in the US; and
Ability to pass a background check and to receive US Government contractor credentials
Your experience should include project planning, problem solving, management/support to senior project management including the scheduling of activities, organizing meetings, management of project documentation such as project plans and meeting minutes, creating and managing budgets, creating and editing
Performing other duties as assigned
