Plant Cost Accountant Job Opening in Wilmington, Delaware - We have two contract openings for a Plant Cost Accountant in Wilmington Delaware. These positions are approved for 6 months. This job is in the suburbs of Wilmington and there is free parking and no Wilmington City Wage Tax. We can only consider local candidates that can interview in person on a short notice if necessary.
Pay Rate: $60.00 to $62.50/Hr.
Qualifications:
Maintains general ledgers and performs the complete accounting cycle in compliance with established practices and generally accepted accounting principles. Provides accounting and financial reporting guidance to support business, functional and corporate needs. Analyzes, classifies, and reviews complex accounting transactions and interrelationships. Prepares interpretation of accounting results and advises management. Identifies complex accounting problems, researches solutions, and corrects problem. Examines financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and principles. Ensures internal controls are in place and operating effectively in accordance to Company standards and government regulations. Initiates and leads special projects, etc. for process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Senior Accountant - Business Resource Description of Role The purpose of this role is to provide ?run and maintain? support to a team of Plant Cost Accountants (PCA) in the US Finance Service Center during the month that will allow the PCAs to focus on carve and separation related activities to the merger and the subsequent stand up of three new companies. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: ? Prepare monthly account reconciliations for various accounts (A/R, Accruals, Prepaids, etc.) ? Clear freight and duty charges within the SAP system ? Monthly data quality checks for US manufacturing plant sites ? Complete US Government Census forms for plant sites ? Master data/Business data requests ? Property tax information gathering ? Prepared and/or submit carve or audit requests ? Ad hoc requests A successful candidate for this role should possess the following attributes: ? Organized ? Attention to detail ? Willingness to Learn ? Ability to adapt to an ever changing environment ? Good time management ? Proactive Minimum skills required: ? Bachelor?s degree in accounting required and CPA certification preferred. ? 5 ? 10 years accounting experience and preferably experience with SAP. ? Proficient with the use of the Microsoft suite of applications. ? Knowledge of basic auditing and internal controls standards (SOX Compliance) and good communications and interpersonal skills.
