Accountant / Auditor II Job Opening in Charleston, West virginia - Under limited supervision, performs professional accounting duties. Responsible for performing moderately complex posting and encumbering of funds. This position exists in the consolidated administrative services unit, finance section of the Development Office. This position performs duties primarily for the Office of Community Advancement section of the Development Office. Duties may include but are not limited to: Daily Financial Accounting for the Community Development Block Grants; Community Service Block Grants, Department Of Energy Grants; Emergency Solution Grants; Housing Opportunities For Persons With Aids Grants; Community Participation Grants; Growing Healthy Communities Grants; Neighborhood Investment Program Deposits and Reports; Paying Employee Travel and Reimbursements; Running Financial Reports; Assisting with Grant Applications; Filing Quarterly Grant Reports and Requests for Reimbursement; using various Federal Systems including ; IDIS; ASAP; PMS and DRGR for recording expenditures and requesting fund drawdowns; performs other duties as required.

Requirements: Training: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in accounting or auditing work.
Experience for area of statutory accounting: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in statutory accounting.
Substitutions: (1) Master's Degree in accounting may substitute for the required experience. (2) certification or registration as a Public Accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training and required experience.
Promotional Only: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as an Accountant/Auditor I. Preference may be shown to accounting from an accredited college or university.
