Product Expert/ Engineer Job Opening in Shelton, Connecticut - The Product Expert / Engineer is responsible for support of the assigned TOMRA products in the Tomra North America market. The applicant must be capable of working both individually and as a team to ensure, and provide support for the products for which they are responsible. The work of the Product Expert / Engineer must be compliant with company?s quality system including design controls and good manufacturing practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Act as Product Expert for assigned systems and products, both hardware and software.
Interface with customers/sales to collect unique or new product requirements
Acts as the primary liaison with Tomra headquarters R&D/Product Management to advocate Tomra North America (TNA) requirements
Ensure that product conforms to specification and TNA business requirements
Act as a team member with regard to product quality and reliability
Ability to understand electronics and electromechanical systems
Lead analysis, root cause investigations, corrective action planning and implementation for product quality issues.
Interface with managers, technicians, IT and customers on a regular basis.
Acts as local project engineer for specific market requirements
Ability to collect and analyze product performance data and utilize to continuously improve product performance.
Manage vendors and outside parties to ensure deadlines are met
Participate in Engineering Change Orders and documentation changes
Fluent and proficient with MS Office
Have basic troubleshooting skills
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience in the design, development and analysis of complex electrometrical systems
Knowledge and understanding of electromagnetic, laser, and electromechanical technologies is preferred
Experience in quality management, manufacturing methods and procedures, market introductions and performance improvement s in technical products.
Experience in creating and performing technical presentations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
Working knowledge of hardware and software development methods
Strong technical and decision making abilities
Ability to solve technical problems in a fast-paced team environment

Salary: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
