Sr. Helpdesk Engineer/Jr. Server Admin Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - Job Description for Client's Desktop Support Engineer
Desktop Engineer maintains and troubleshoots the companies? computers, laptops and servers within the organization's network. He/she will install, configure and troubleshoot computers and printers, to keep them at optimum performance. This is a very hands-on career that frequently requires the individual to respond to urgent requests and help individuals face to face. Candidate must be able to lift and move equipment as well as configure equipment and cables around workspaces. Some local travel may also be required.
This position requires a high school diploma. A degree in computer science or software engineering is a plus; education can be substituted with experience, certifications and specialized training. A strong background in information technology and proficiency in all of the Windows platforms is required. Formal Microsoft training is a big bonus. Applicant must have very strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as technical problem-solving skills. Optimal candidate will be a team player who is flexible to help with any task. Excellent customer service is top priority.
Technical Experience required =
Windows 7, 8, 10 advanced level support.
Active Directory admin (user, computer,group) experience
Office 2010 /O365 /Office 2016 installation, troubleshooting and administration
VOIP experience
PC, printer and peripheral repair
Image creation, maintenance experience
Citrix client installation and troubleshooting
Anti-Virus protection installation and maintenance
Mobile device configuration and maintenance
Understanding DHCP - client renew/release and Server scope review
Understanding DNS - nslookup, know IP-Name resolution troubleshooting
Desktop Support Engineer Tasks =
Answer calls or tickets to support end users with applications, hardware, software, and networking.
Create support documentation and knowledge base articles.
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems in person and remotely, resolving and documenting solutions.
Maintain steady flow of keeping PC?s and hardware updated and ready to deploy.
