Director of Facilities Job Opening in Junction City, Kansas - The Director of Facilities is responsible for construction, renovation and ongoing maintenance projects within the hospital to ensure a safe, functional and aesthetically pleasing facility. Key responsibilities include :
Assigns personnel and material resources to maintenance and repair projects, using all building trades;
Administers and monitors service contracts to ensure work is properly performed and processes claims for payment;
Supervises work of contractors in connection with the maintenance and improvement of buildings and building facilities;
Conducts periodic inspections of buildings, evaluates the complexity of any needed repairs to determine best solution, projects job cost, and oversees the implementation of approved procedures to ensure the ongoing efficient operation of buildings and grounds;
Maintains ongoing relationships with all department units to keep abreast of their service needs and to be able to anticipate problems before they become crisis situations;
Supervises and trains staff in the approved practices and procedures for proper facility maintenance and in the implementation and observance of all approved safety procedures to ensure compliance with existing safety regulations
Oversees and implements facility security plan
What we seek:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering; preferably civil; mechanical or electrical supplemented with 2 years of related field experience, or 5 - 10 years of related experience including building construction, maintenance of equipment and utilities, and management of building and grounds required.
Five years in a role within a healthcare facility maintenance field preferred.
Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and Life Safety Codes, NFPA, EPA, UBC. Working knowledge of Kansas Healthcare Facility Regulations preferred.
