Director of Sales Job Opening in Stafford, Virginia - Responsible for the overall success of the hotel; responsible for meeting and exceeding planned revenue objectives for occupancy and average daily rate (ADR) and RevPAR. Manage all areas of sales according to company and brand standards to achieve a professional rapport within the local business community.
Marketing and Sales Management:
Create and implement the development of the hotel?s sales action plan based on the hotel?s position and strengths within each market segment.
Analyze and understand the competition?s strengths and weaknesses for each market segment and successfully direct marketing activities against each.
Identify and maintain constant communication with the hotel?s key accounts.
Actively sell room nights through outside sales calls, cold calling, tours, etc.
Actively sell to in-house guests (greeting tours, talking with guests at breakfast to surface additional leads, etc.).
Know the competition well. In addition, be familiar with all business in the market and know where that business stays and why.
Use the resources available in the brand and company manual to discover, call on, and track potential business.
Profit Management
Meet and exceed budgeted RevPAR for the hotel.
Prepare and follow-through the sales action plan.
Direct selling activities to maximize revenues.
Know the hotel?s demand segments, sources of business, and balance market segments according to supply and demand.
Know the principal competition for each market segment and take advantage of the hotel?s strengths against each competitor.
Accurately forecast occupancy changes based on changing market conditions (additions to supply and demand, etc.).
Financial:
Achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals.
Anticipate revenue/cost problems and manage the timing of discretionary expenditures to stabilize cash flow.
Analyze financial and operational information on an on-going basis to adjust business plans, labor requirements, and operating costs.
Ensure hotel staff is trained in financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables and ensure that these procedures are followed.
Produce accurate, timely financial reports.
Identify major revenue and expense opportunities.
Accurately forecast occupancy changes based on changing market conditions (i.e. increased competition).
Achievement of revenue and cost objectives.
Associate Team:
Ensure that hotel employees (specifically the front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and special rates, special requirements, special packages, etc. relating to business being booked at the hotel.
Maintain guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.
Personally demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding to guests? needs.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties assigned.
Must have a valid driver?s license & Proof of insurance.
Notice
The hotel business operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Due to this, it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shifts to conform to the demands of the hotel and our guests. This is the hospitality business and a hospitality service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subjected to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with all rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.
