Bakery Sales Assistant Job Opening in Brooklyn, New york - Piece of Velvet is looking for dynamic, reliable, outgoing candidates to help promote, sell and share the story behind our products through top-notch customer service for our Brooklyn and Manhattan stores. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
Provide exceptional customer service while engaging with each customer.
Effective selling through product knowledge and suggestive upselling to pair customers with the proper products.
Sampling outside the store to promote products
Run register accurately with quick and proper cash handling abilities.
Tidy and replenish merchandise throughout Retail area.
Prep and distribute samples to build brand awareness and sales
Execute proper food handling and cleanliness standards.
Stock taking.
Excellent phone etiquette when answering phones, taking special orders, coordinating with the kitchen manager and other staff
CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES:
Experience in customer service. Food service experience preferred.
Sense of urgency to assist every customer.
High attention to detail.
Willingness to jump in and work in a team environment.
Must have a positive outgoing personality.
Must be over the top about the product they are sampling with an upbeat personality.
Must have a professional image and attitude.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Flexible Hours: Including weekends and holidays.
Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
Willingness to learn new things.
Food Handlers certificate an advantage
Must be 18 to apply.
