Senior Development Manager Job Opening in Cheshire, Connecticut - The Senior Development Manager is responsible for the on-going growth and success of NKF fund-raising events in their local area. With the direction of the Executive Director, the Senior Development Manager will take the lead in the execution, fundraising and volunteer engagement of the Individual and Corporate Giving Campaign with a primary focus on two honors events and cultivation events. Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
The Senior Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director to attain the income necessary to achieve NKF?s mission. This relationship should be characterized by effective communication, a positive attitude toward the growth of the Foundation, and the achievement of its mission through mutual understanding of goals and development objectives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Takes the lead on all business and logistical aspects of two Honors events and other events as assigned.
Supervise planning, budgeting, execution and evaluation of Individual and Major giving campaign also two honors events and third-party events.
Shares in the overall event revenue goal through a combination of corporate cash sponsorship, and team participation for all fundraising efforts.
Actively participates in cultivating, soliciting, securing and managing corporate sponsorship.
Responsible for managing all logistical details related to planning and execution of Honors event.
Handles all grant proposals, and writing submissions for Government, Corporate and Family Foundations.
Manage Honors event timelines and analyze benchmarks to determine event and donor engagement towards meeting overall goals.
Ensures all budgets, records and reporting is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Develops innovative methods for the Region to maximize its net income, including ancillary fundraising activities at events and additional sponsorship opportunities.
Meets income goals for events and special initiatives.
Performs additional duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3 years related experience in fund raising, specifically with Gala programs.
Proven track record in managing and in growing community based fundraising events.
Experience in securing high level corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
Experience in a health care field or with a voluntary health organization a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with overall event management, including supervising staff and volunteers.
Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
Self-starter able to work well in a team driven environment to accomplish goals.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft applications.
Flexible to work weekends and evenings when needed and travel as needed.
