Corporate Controller Job Opening in Kennesaw, Georgia - Job Description:
Responsible for handling accounting duties for multiple hotel properties.
Manage all accounting activities for existing hotel portfolio and/or other investment properties.
Responsible for oversight of Accounting Assistant and ensure all payables are paid on time. Prepare hotel bank reconciliations, journal entries, profit and loss, balance sheet, clear all reconciling items and distribute monthly financials.
Reconcile credit card and balance sheet accounts.
Set up bank accounts, merchant services, implement accounting systems and procedures for new
Prepare and file sales tax returns and property bill backs; to include, but no limited to, management fees, health insurance, workers comp, property insurances and corporate expenses.
Coordinate weekly updates and monthly forecasts and outlooks. Prepare and monitor cash flow analysis for hotels.
Review/prepare financials reports for multiple properties in accordance with reporting calendars and insure that all reports are submitted on a timely basis.
Prepare all other financial reports and analysis, perform other general and administrative functions as may be required. Assist with annual budgeting process.
Requirements:
Preferably, a bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required.
A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in hospitality industry. Multiple property experience preferred.
Must have intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel proficiencies and M3 accounting software.
Requires intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, knowledge of financial terms and principles to include accounting methods (cash, accruals, and full GAAP)
Strong organization and analytical skills
Strong desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment. Ability to work independently and multi-task.
Flexibility to adjust priorities in response to rapidly changing , excellent oral and written communication skills.
Travel required for onsite audits and transitions.
