Job Description:
Understand how investment portfolio performance is generated and reported across traditional and non-traditional investment types (e.g. equities, mutual funds, private equity and hedge funds).
Run monthly, quarterly, and on-demand performance reports for clients using Tamarac (Envestnet) performance reporting software. When necessary, create customized reports in Excel.
Upload monthly fund data into system.
Provide overview of reporting software capabilities to new and existing clients.
Monitor Alternative Investments on custodian platforms to confirm that the valuations reported are consistent.
Understand how different Alternative transactions impact performance and coordinate with Fund Administrators and custodians when discrepancies exist.
Construct tailored asset allocation proposals according to client risk and return tolerances.
Create introductory marketing materials for prospective clients. This involves creating customized portfolios in Excel and running fund performance reports in FactSet and Morningstar Direct.
Run fund specific reports in FactSet.
Interact with clients and clients? accountants, tax attorneys, and estate planners when needed.
Complete account paperwork and fund subscription documents for new and existing clients when needed.
Required Skills:
Bachelor?s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
3-5 years of experience in financial services industry, preferably with a Registered Investment Advisor.
Experience with Alternative Investments ( of private equity and real estate).
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in Tamarac Performance Reporting Software.
Working knowledge of FactSet; specifically, Portfolio Analytics and SPAR.
Strong understanding of investment operations, financial markets, and the asset management industry.
Understand the concepts of Time Weighted Return, Internal Rate of Return, and Yield.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently and accurately under time pressure.
