Field Service Truck & Diesel Mechanic Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Field Service Truck & Diesel Mechanic ROAD WARRIOR Field Service TRUCK & DIESEL Mechanic, Full- or Part-Time Organized self-starter with excellent communications and job documentation skills. Able to work and think independently in unsupervised situations. Must be responsible and dependable, with very good, clean and courteous driving skills. Capabilities include: A real MacGyver with comprehensive understanding of tractor-truck and trailer components, systems, and maintenance schedules; complete diesel and gasoline combustion engine diagnostics and repairs; extensive brake and chassis/ fuel delivery and emissions/ on-board computers and 12V DC elect systems experience REQUIRED, as is some weld/ hydraulics/ refer-box technical knowledge. ASE, or other formal professional training certifications proving knowledge are required. Must be experienced with diagnostic and mechanical inspection tools and have good writing and documentation skills. Should have clean CDL to road test trucks, good references showing attendance and on-time work completion capabilities, and be able to develop a good rapport with our commercial fleet operators. Supervisory skills a definite plus. Daily Duties: Responsible for all repairs on commercial fleet operator vehicles, Road Warriors may be on-call 24/7. On-call rotations with other techs and days off are scheduled and then set in stone � if you are on call, you WILL answer the phone. Diagnose & repair drive train, chassis & suspension, air & brake systems, and electrical; utilizes computer scanners and other diagnostic tools and knowledge to properly diagnose break-downs and systems failures; performs all repairs of on- and off-road vehicles, at various designated sites - as assigned. Follows-up on all assigned jobs to ensure quality of repairs. Completes ppw to ensure correct tracking and billing of work. Some major component repair & replacement, PM Services & Annual inspections possible, along with light welding, grinding, and use of torch or plasma cutters. NOTE: Performs graveyard on-calls, on rotation with other techs � we provide 24/7/365 emergency call-out services so you WILL get called out to the side of the freeway at 3:00AM in a driving snow or rainstorm & you WILL be in good spirits when it happens (even if that poor, broken-down truck driver isn�t)! Requirements: ASE, or some type of formal professional certification IS MANDATORY for this position � we will check. Minimum 10 years verifiable experience showing extensive brake, fuel delivery, on-board computer and 24V DC elect systems diagnostic experience is REQUIRED. Should have DOT annual inspections, weld, hydraulics, and refer-box technical knowledge, forklift experience is a plus. Must have own hand tools and be physically capable of exerting up to 50 lbs. of force and handling very tough environmental conditions � Mad Max types only please, wusses need not apply. Compensation: Starting Pay Rate is $20 - $35 per hour, DOE. 1.5X for callouts 11PM - 7AM (with 2hr min). Top-dollar for top knowledge & capabilities only � Everything else is negotiable.
