Epic Support Specialist Job Opening in Secaucus, New jersey - Riverside Medical Group is seeking an Epic Support Specialist to work in our Secaucus Administrative office in New Jersey. This is not a remote position.
The Epic Support Specialist works in conjunction with the EMR Director and as part of a team to support, and maintain the clinical information system. The specialist develops and maintains a positive working relationship with physicians and user departments to ensure appropriate training and utilization of the Epic EMR system.
Key Responsibilities:
Interacts with internal departments to understand EHR business requirements. Analyzes operational workflow and EHR system features to guide gap analysis, options, decision-making and maintenance
Serves as consultant for issues and topics related to an electronic health record; Serves as a conduit for aligning resources and activities related to EHR topics and issues
Works with the Directors and Management to support activities in implementation, testing, and activation of EHR software
Supports work effort during optimization and ongoing maintenance of EHR software
Participates in the review and testing of major releases and upgrades, evaluating new functionality and master file changes for new features
Coordinates new application functionality with the training team. Works with team to develop supporting materials as needed and aids team during training
Provides support to the EMR Director who can support office sites and train for Epic Cadence and Epic Ambulatory.
Supports communication and analysis for maintaining master files, end-user access, and security files.
Responds to user level support questions related to the EHR. Escalates high level questions to Director of EMR.
Develops and documents internal procedures in coordination with internal departments and affiliate hospitals and clinics
Assures clinical content meets HIPAA regulatory and compliance requirements
Stays current on E.H.R. trends and emerging developments
Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree from an accredited four year college or university or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 years experience in a healthcare environment with ?big picture? knowledge of clinical operations preferred
Prior job experience with vendor supplied software, including Epic Cadence and Epic Ambulatory
Project management or workflow analysis experience desirable
Knowledge of computer systems in PC, client-server, and web-enabled systems
Experience with MS Office applications and document creation software
