We are a boutique financial services firm based in Atlanta, GA, focused on providing highly customized financial and asset management services in the private wealth industry.
About the Role
This is a 36 month accounting analyst program. It is expected that in the final year of the program the accounting analyst, with the firm?s support and consultation, will begin seeking their next opportunity outside the firm.
This position is data-intensive and requires strong organizational skills. There will also be significant interactivity with the client management professionals and other external partners. The ability to interact with and get along with a diverse constituency is critical.
The role will primarily be a utility role with unique exposure to a wide array of private wealth activities. This opportunity is ideal for a professional considering an MBA in a few years, or looking to expand skills in not just traditional accounting, but tax, treasury operations, and data management.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include:
Track accounting and operations activities in proprietary database
Perform periodic reviews and reconciliations of data records to various sources and notify client managers of outstanding data needs and issues
Screen and monitor account activity for approximately 75 bank and investment accounts
Provide support for banking initiatives and compliance (account maintenance, credit facility maintenance, etc.)
Perform accounting and financial statement preparation of client entity financial statements
Coordinate the weekly client liquidity analyses, including data input, data verification, basic variance analysis
Coordinate annual budget process for client entities
Maintain running tax estimates and compliance data, providing to internal and external users
Assist with research as needed for accounting, treasury and tax related questions using internal and external resources
Assist in the preparation of internal investment memoranda and presentations.
Support client management professionals with ad hoc analyses
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA or CPA track candidate preferred
Proficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
2+ years of relevant experience (e.g. internal or public audit; corporate finance accounting & reporting)
Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools
Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a small team and in a flexible manner
