Non Medical Transportation Drivers Job Opening in Akron, Ohio - JOB DESCRIPTION:
?Non-medical transportation? means transportation that is used to access adult day support, vocational habilitation, supported employment-enclave, and/or supported services as specified by their individual service plan (ISP). All non medical transportation providers are required to provide the following services:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. No smoking in van.
Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment daily to ensure that everything is in working order.
Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs.
Make minor repairs to vehicles.
follow a preplanned route according to a definite scheduled time
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios
Identify, document, and report any issues or concerns
Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
Warm vehicle per weather conditions
Remove all trash and debris before returning vehicle
Document start miles and end miles on speedometer daily
Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and/or fares received
Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
Transport consumer to and from work sites on scheduled times
Monitor consumer while being transported to ensure no medical/behavioral issues
Assist consumer on and off transportation vehicle as needed
Assist consumer with securing seat belt
Ensure health and safety of all consumers
Maintain order among consumer during trips, in order to ensure safety.
Follow safety rules as consumers are boarding and exiting, and/or as they cross streets near van stops.
Report suspected abuse/neglect to Executive Coordinator or designated person.
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Adheres to the appropriate code of ethics.
Employee shall not be confrontational with Consumer in any way or act in any way that can be misconstrued as inappropriate behavior on Employee?s part.
Performs other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by supervisor.
