EnergyFit Nevada is looking for Energy Auditors to join our teams in both Las Vegas and Reno. Auditors will be performing home energy efficiency assessments on behalf of NV Energy?s Powershift Program.
OVERVIEW
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Conduct residential home energy assessments in accordance with NV Energy and EnergyFit Nevada standards. Educate homeowners on how to make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable. Planned, full-time compensation is $41,600.00 to $52,000.00 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Cell phone and health care spending allowances are provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct home energy assessments in residential homes, accessing attics, basements, crawl spaces, and interior areas.
Perform tests and inspect building systems/components to evaluate existing conditions.
Recommend energy efficiency improvements and document findings.
Interact with homeowners and tenants, answering questions regarding energy efficiency and recommend next steps.
Promote and encourage adoption of energy saving measures recommended in the home energy assessment and install any measures that may be available at the time of the assessment.
Record results in business systems/data bases.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to arrive at customer homes on time, as scheduled.
Must have a valid driver?s license with a clean driving record and have a reliable, insured vehicle to travel to customer homes each day (mileage will be reimbursed).
Must pass initial and any on-going background check and drug screening.
Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and work in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
Must be proficient with computers and related technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: High School diploma, experience with customer service, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred: BS in a technical field and/or previous home energy contracting/energy efficiency work experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Required: Excellent ability to speak and write in English to communicate information about the home energy assessment and its findings.
Preferred: Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS:
Required: Excellent arithmetic and geometry skills. Advanced computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and data base entry.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Required: Building Performance Institute (BPI), RESNET HERS Rater, or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required. (EnergyFit Nevada may train otherwise qualified candidates.)

The Nevada State Office of Energy (NSOE) helped launch the EnergyFit Nevada program to increase and strengthen the state?s residential energy efficiency retrofit market. The goal of the program was to implement Home Performance with ENERGY STAR standards, reducing energy consumption by a minimum of 20% for each home, and developing a self-sustaining home performance contracting industry. Grant funding through the NSOE expired in 2014.
EnergyFit Nevada is currently working with local utilities and municipalities in Nevada to offer additional programs consistent with its Mission. Green Chips, the parent company of the EnergyFit Nevada program, was formed in 2009 and merged with EnergyFit Nevada in 2015.
Green Chips main office is located in Las Vegas at 4220 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 205, Las Vegas, NV 89119. All management decisions are made by the Green Chips Board of Directors and is governed by the Bylaws of Green Chips. Day to day operations are overseen by the Executive Director and staff.
ABOUT NV ENERGY?S POWERSHIFT RESIDENTIAL ENERGY EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENT (EEA) PROGRAM
The purpose of this Program is to help NV Energy provide superior customer service by conducting energy assessments to identify efficiency and conservation opportunities for residential customers. The Program is reviewed and approved on an on-going basis by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN).
EnergyFit Nevada is contracted to supply qualified Energy Auditors and provide other services to the Program. Energy Auditors must have considerable industry knowledge and be aware of related NV Energy rebate and incentive programs. They must hold one of the following industry certificates: Building Performance Institute (BPI), Residential Energy Services Network Home Energy Rater (RESNET HERS), or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
The service territory for NV Energy is both northern and southern Nevada and comprises over 45,592 square miles with 2.4 million citizens. Over 90% of homes surveyed will be less than 3000 sq. ft. The Energy Efficiency Assessment (EEA) is performed in the customer?s residence and typically takes one hour to complete. Specific measures identified in the assessment finding may also be installed by the Energy Auditor. Energy Auditors are responsible for delivering services consistent with EnergyFit Nevada?s, Green Chip?s, and NV Energy?s high standards.
